Presenter Preview: Integrating Gambling & Gaming Recovery Skills into Practice

Kitty Martz, CGRM, CGAC-II, MBA 

Advocate, educator, mentor and counselor Kitty Martz is the Executive Director of Voices of Problem Gambling Recovery in Portland, Oregon and president of the Oregon Council on Problem Gambling. As a person with lived experience in gambling harm, Ms. Martz is a longstanding SMART Recovery facilitator and she is trained by The Beck Institute in CBT based suicide mitigation.  Kitty works directly with peers to support their gambling recovery, develops curriculums, establishes procedural frameworks, and delivers engaging training seminars on a national level. Her passion is to participate in the legislative process related to gambling regulation.  She can be reached at www.vpgr.net

Tana Russell, CDP, NCTTP, WSCGC-II

Tana Russell became Assistant Director at Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling in 2019 and Deputy Director in 2024. She holds certifications as a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP), Washington State Certified Gambling Counselor II (WSCGC-II), Nationally Certified Tobacco Treatment Provider (NCTTP), Certified Gambling Disorder Trainer (CGT), and has completed specialized training and study on video/internet gaming disorder.  She serves on NCPG committees, the Washington State Gambling Counselor Certification Committee, and several other workgroups and committees.
