Health Information Privacy and Security – HIPAA

Paul Hales is a graduate of Columbia University Law School and is licensed to practice law before the Supreme Court of The United States. Paul began his legal career as an appellate lawyer in the office of the noted civil rights attorney, Louis Gilden. He went on to litigate complex civil cases for both plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts. As a partner at Goldstein and Price Paul specialized in admiralty and maritime litigation and appeals including multi-district federal litigation and developed a business and estate planning practice. The hallmark of Paul’s career is innovation, recently exemplified by development of The HIPAA E-Tool®, an Internet-based Software as a Service product for health information privacy education and compliance. It is a legal ‘productivity engine’, a term coined in a series of influential articles and law practice management book published in 2017. Esteemed organizations like the ABA Center for Innovation and the College of Law Practice Management now search for technology that can create law firm efficiency, increase productivity, and reduce error. And corporate management is demanding legal departments adopt LDMS – lean daily management systems – that can only happen by effective use of technology: legal productivity engines.
