Recap of 2020 (Part 1)

Season 1 | EPISODE 5

We interview Dr. Timothy Fong, Professor of Psychiatry at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA and the Director of the UCLA Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship.  We are also honored to be joined by Dr. Lori Rugle, who prefers to be introduced as a white privileged, boomer generation, cisgendered, heterosexual, Buddhist woman of biological and adoptive eastern European ancestry who currently lives on the ancestral land of the Erie and Iroquois people, and she also has over 36 years working with problem gambling.

We look back on 2020 with a bag full of mixed emotions.  Tune in for a discussion on how the pandemic has directly, and indirectly, impacted the mental and behavioral health of a huge population, changed how people gamble and who gambles.  We also look at how the pandemic has closed some doors, while opening others, added some barriers, and pushed both individuals and agencies to break down barriers that should have been broken down years ago.

This interview is broken into two parts, episodes 5 and 6. We hope you enjoy! As well as find some healing from it.
