Washington State Gambling Counselor Certification Adds Bachelor’s Equivalency Option!

The 30-hour required core course in introductory gambling-specific training for mental health and chemical dependency treatment providers will be offered October 29-November 1 at the Four Directions Conference.  Scholarships are available for Washington State licensed treatment providers.  For more information, click here.

Washington State Gambling Counselor Certification Adds Bachelor’s Equivalency Option!

For those Washington State Licensed Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Treatment Providers seeking Problem Gambling Counselor Certification, new changes in Provisional Provider and Bachelor’s Equivalency options are now available.  Click here for full Certification information.

For Level I Certification, applicants may hold a Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college-level institution

OR

A Bachelor’s Equivalency:

  • Associate’s Degree and
  • 2 years post-CDP Licensure work and training to include:
    • Preponderance (minimum of 85%) of duties related to the fields of mental health/addictions/problem gambling treatment
    • Proof of successfully completed problem gambling-specific training programs/courses (30-hour Introductory Problem Gambling  Training
    • AND a minimum of 10 additional hours of face-to-face advanced gambling-related training.
