Gambling addiction is devastating to marriages, business, and people of all ages. This presentation will address the dynamics and impact of gambling addiction on:
- Couples in Treatment: Relationship dynamics, intervention and treatment, therapist’s role.
- Female Gamblers: Gender differences, issues in treatment, dos and don’ts of treatment.
- Inpatient Treatment: Pros and cons of inpatient treatment, approaches to treatment, and outcome.
- Special Population: Youth and gambling.
- Gambling and the Brain: The neurobiology of gambling addiction.
We will discuss treatment issues, including inpatient treatment, the therapist’s role, and effective interventions. The presentation will include PowerPoint, video, role playing, and group dynamics.
