This course will explain significant aspects to gain cultural awareness of tribal culture using the Blackfoot heritage, including history, language, song, dance, beliefs, and spirituality. One aspect of this course will touch on the stages of cultural competency, including cultural knowledge, cultural sensitivity, cultural awareness, and cultural competency along with their role in problem gambling treatment. This course will also enlighten participants regarding the significance behind the impact of tribal gaming, including the history, growth, and impact. Jerry will also discuss treatment options in a variety of areas for problem gamblers in respect to the Native American culture.
