Ethical Issues in the Treatment of Problem Gamblers (3CEU)

Focus on various ethical dilemmas we face when working with problem gamblers and their families. The Ethical Guidelines of the Certification Board will be reviewed, participants will be expected to share challenges they have faced, and methods for dealing with dilemmas will be reviewed. This will be an interactive workshop—light on instruction and heavy on group process and dialogue. Ethical vignettes will be developed by the presenter. Participants must have taken the basic introductory workshop.
Participants will learn:
- A general ethical frame of reference
- The ethical standards within the context of gambling counselor certification
- To apply these standards to practical clinical situation
* Lunch on your own each day. Morning and afternoon beverage service is provided.
