Public Awareness

Studies indicate that effective public awareness can help prevent an increase in Problem Gambling rates.  As part of its efforts to address Problem Gambling, the Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling conducts Public Awareness throughout the state.

Public Awareness Presentations

ECPG conducts presentations to professionals, business, civic, youth, and military groups, school and university classes, legislative and government officials, and other organizations.  Presentations vary in length from ten minutes to as long as three hours for some college classes.  Handouts are usually provided with presentations.  These presentations are available at no charge.  Click here for more information on scheduling a presentation.

Booths

ECPG sets up information booths at health fairs, professional conferences, education institutions and events, and at gambling industry conferences.  These booths provide information on Problem and Pathological Gambling and distribute informational material at no cost.

Problem Gambling Awareness Week

ECPG supports Problem Gambling Awareness Week.  This annual event represents an important effort to increase the public’s awareness of Problem and Pathological Gambling.  ECPG works to have the gambling industry join it in support of this important effort.  In the past, ECPG and its industry partners have worked to have additional public awareness through print media, billboards, expanded television and radio Public Service Announcements (PSAs), and other activities.
